Assignment 3: U C What I C Developmental Process

Here are the sketches i did for assignment 3 before taking the actual photos. And here's the actual storyline that i planned prior to that.

1) An innocent girl is studying in the garden when a fierce-looking man appears

2) The man is the “Scissors, Paper, Stone” King

3) The girl looks stunned as the King intimidates her with a thumbs-down

4) Both of them prepare for a game of “Scissors, Paper, Stone”

5) Surprisingly, the girl won! The King looks stunned

6) The fallen King was disappointed as his 10 years record was broken and starts to drink his Jolly Shandy

7) The drunk King staggers away from the garden

8) A bad day turns worse as the fallen King arrives at the wrong toilet

9) The newly-crowned champion giggles at the plight of the arrogant fallen King

Next, i had to find people who could help me out to act as characters within the story. I approached a few of my friends who were very willing to provide assistance for this assignment. Another problem faced was the setting of the photoshoot. Initially i wanted to use the Deck as the setting of the photoshoot but i realised there were too many people there which makes it more difficult for my story to flow. As such i decided to use the garden park just beside the NUS Co-op to perform my photoshoot.

During the photoshoot, i took numerous photos from different angles for each of the chosen scene so as to give myself more options when selecting the most appropriate one for my final prototype. Some of the shots used were like close-up shots, over the shoulder shots and wide angle shots.

Furthermore, to make the photos and my story more impactful, I used various photoshop techniques such as changing the opaqness and various tracing methods to make my story more evident just by looking at the photos alone.
